| The young cast of Androcles and the Lion, written by Aurand Harris and directed for the stage by Christian Heppinstall, enjoyed the zaniness and freedom of expression found in the Commedia dell' Arte style. They juggled, danced, sang and smacked each other about with slapsticks as the tale of a slave boy saved by a lion swiftly unfolded. A smash-hit the Alaska Theatre of Youth production transferred into the larger Sydney Laurence Theater at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts for its 2004 reprisal. | ![]() |
